The Last Date for Filing Income Tax Returns is now 31 August

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has given huge relief to the income taxpayers and has forwarded the last date of income tax returns to be filled up for the financial year 2018-19. The CBDT has extended the last date of filing of Income Tax Returns from 31st July 2019 to 31st August 2019. Now the income taxpayer can file his income tax return for the financial year 2018-19 by August 31. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman will start the taxpayer e-aid campaign across the country on the occasion of 159th Income Tax Day.

He said that this campaign has been prepared by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and it will be started in all Regional Offices of the Income Tax Department. Tax officials will conduct camps to help the taxpayers in e-filing of returns and will try to explain the changes in the format of law, software, and forms in the direct tax regime.

According to the information, the main event will be held in Delhi, in which Sitaraman and Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur will attend It is celebrated on 24th July as income-tax day because this tax was first introduced in 1860 on the same day and the right to apply it was implemented on 24th July of the same year.
