Tejas Arrived Late for the First Time, will give Compensation to Passengers

Lucknow: The recently launched Tejas Express arrived late on Saturday on both sides for about two hours, after which the train will pay Rs 250 as compensation to each of its passengers. About 451 passengers boarded the train from Lucknow and about 500 passengers from New Delhi. IRCTC Lucknow Chief Regional Manager (CRM) Ashwini Srivastava said, 'We have sent a link on the mobile of all the passengers, by clicking on which they can apply for their compensation. They will get compensation by clicking the link.

Tejas launched from Lucknow on October 4, is the first incorporated train of the Indian Railways, operated by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).

For the first time, it will happen that passengers are compensated for the delay in travel. Compensation is given when the train arrives at its last station late by the scheduled time. On the other hand, if the train arrives at the last station on time despite running late for the scheduled time, then compensation will not be given.

Tejas started from Lucknow on Saturday at 8.55 for the first time instead of its scheduled time of 6.10 am and New Delhi reached 3.40 instead of 12.25 pm. After this, Tejas left New Delhi at around 5.30 pm instead of 3.35 pm.

The train was delayed due to maintenance. Maintenance service is done in every train before leaving on its regular journey. The maintenance of Tejas could be started at around 4 am on Saturday as a coach derailed during the shunting at the Maintenance Yard at Lucknow station.

Due to the delay, 'sorry for delays' were printed on packets of extra tea, lunch, and refreshments given to the passengers. During this announcement, passengers were also informed about the delay of the train.
