Ayodhya Land Dispute Case will be Completed Tomorrow

The Ayodhya land dispute case has commenced on Tuesday for the 39th day. Yesterday the Sunni Waqf Board had completed the debate on the appeal, today the Hindu side is responding to its pleas. Meanwhile, the Chief Justice has made it clear that tomorrow there will be a final hearing in the matter on the 40th day, in which case the debate should be completed.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court had asked a lot of questions to the Muslim side demanding the ownership of the mosque on the disputed land. The apex court had asked that if Hindus had the right to worship there, would it not weaken the claim of monopoly of Muslims? On this, Rajiv Dhawan, the lawyer of the Muslim side got jhala and he asked why the court only questions him.

The Supreme Court yesterday directed the UP government to provide security to Sunni Waqf Board Chairman Zafar Ahmed Farooqi as he feared his assassination. A five-member constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi took note of the letter of the arbitration committee. In a letter addressed to the Supreme Court, Shri Ram Panchu, a member and senior advocate of the committee, said that Farooqui had threatened to die.

The hearing in the case is in the final stages in the Supreme Court. Security arrangements in Ayodhya have been tightened in view of the possibility of a decision on this in the next few days. Section 144 has been implemented in the district till December 10. Meanwhile, to avoid any dispute, the district administration has not allowed the Vishwa Hindu Parishad to donate a lamp at the disputed site in Ayodhya on Deepotsav. There is anger among saints and leaders of Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

Yesterday, Justice SA Bobde of the constitution bench had asked Rajiv Dhawan, a lawyer for the Muslim side, that if Hindus had the right to worship, does it not weaken your claim of monopoly. Rajiv Dhawan said that he had the right to worship because of consuming the place for a long time. But they did not have ownership. Dhawan argued that if someone comes to my house and asks if I can wash my hands with you and I allow him. Later he starts coming to wash his hands five times every day, so will he become the master of my house.
