Starting next year, probably the companies making Android smartphones will give the latest version of Android in all their new smartphones. Android 10 launched in September and currently there are few companies who have announced to provide Android 10 support for their latest smartphones.
According to a report by XDA Developers, from next year i.e. 31 January 2020, Google will allow smartphone makers to use their own service (Google Mobile Service) only when they customize their software on Android 10. However, there is also a screw in which companies can take advantage of this.
With this move, Google will ask all the smartphone makers to give new software updates to the users. These updates include security updates which are important for the security of the smartphone.
According to the report, Google’s document states that Android build should be approved before January 31, that is, to some extent it is also possible that companies can still launch phones with older Android, but for this they need to have to keep the software ready.
According to reports, Google is making some changes in approvals regarding Android. According to XDA developers, smartphones running on Android 9 Pie and Android 10, launched after 3 September 2019, will have digital wellbeing with parent control. Companies that manufacture mobiles can opt to inbuilt the Google Digital Wellbeing app.
In this report by XDA Developers, it has also been said that it will be mandatory for smartphone makers to launch USB Type C smartphones under the GMS guidelines.
According to a report by 9to5google, in Google’s GMS requirement documents, the company is mandating three button navigation or gestures in Android 10 devices. If the company sells the smartphone with Android 10 gestures, then a three button layout option will be necessary.
