On Thursday, GoAir has fired one of its trainee pilot for objectionable Social Media Post. GoAir employee Asif Khan made vulgar comments on Twitter about Sita Mata, following which Boycott GoAir (#boycottGoair) started trending on Twitter. For this, many Twitter users had tagged GoAir and demanded action. People demanded strong action against the employee. People said that if GoAir would not terminate him, they would not travel further from GoAir.

Sonam Mahajan tagged GoAir, "Hi @GoAirlinesIndia, Please clarify if Asif Khan @MdAsif35534489 is really your employee as his twitter bio states. If he is and you do not fire him for this unpardonable public conduct, it will mean that you are complicit in encouraging such hatred against the Hindu religion."

GoAir later reported Asif being fired. Sharing the information on Twitter, the company wrote that, "GoAir had a zero-tolerance policy and was mandatory for all to comply with the company's employment rules, regulations and policies, including social media behaviour. The airline does not associate itself with personal views expressed by any individual or employee. With immediate effect GoAir is terminating the employment contract of the trainee first officer," the airline statement read.."

After this announcement by GoAir, Sonam Mahajan tweeted that, "Soon after my tweet, Asif Khan deactivated his profile but I am glad, GoAir didn't let him get away. All you hateful Hinduphobes out there, watch out, you could be the next one."
