Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam chaired the first meeting of the APEX Committee for the J&K Global Investor Summit-2020. The entire committee has given the responsibility of this summit. The Chief Secretary said that it has to give color to the festival. For this, administrative secretaries have to understand their role and responsibility.

He said that this summit will give a strong platform to Jammu and Kashmir to show its strength. Investors will get an opportunity to know about investment plans and government policies. This will be a big event. It will also have several Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed.

The Chief Secretary said that industries will start setting up in Jammu and Kashmir like other states by this summit. Globally, Jammu and Kashmir will remain a priority for investors. The fear of foreign businessmen from investing in Jammu and Kashmir will also be overcome. This will establish better relations between local and outside merchants. Avenues of employment will also open for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Chief Secretary directed all administrative secretaries to identify areas which have greater potential and potential in Jammu and Kashmir. Not only this, those areas should also be identified in which the expectations of the youth are fulfilled. This summit should prove to be the road map of the future for Jammu and Kashmir. He asked the Department of Industry and Commerce to make a questionnaire for investors. Earlier, the Principal Secretary of the Department of Industry and Commerce gave detailed information on the preparations for the summit.

Jammu & Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization has been made the nodal agency for the summit. The Confederation of Indian Industry has been made a national partner. Ernest Young has been named Knowledge, Prize Waterhouse Cooper as Media and Event Partner. Empower Committee, Hospitality Committee, Vanu Management Committee, Traffic and Security Committee, Transport Committee, Cultural Committee, Committee to beautify the city, Media and Publicity Committee, Site Seeing Committee, Exhibition Committee have been formed.

They have been informed about their role, responsibilities. In the coming days, the events before the summit will be chaired by the Lieutenant Governor. Includes talks with investors in New Delhi on January 8. Road shows are being planned. Awareness camps will be set up at the district level. Administrative Secretary, Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and HODs of various departments were present. Kashmir officials participated in the video conference.
