A Statue of 'Mahatma Gandhi' has been removed from the Ghana Prestigious University following complaints that he was racist against Black Africans.
The statue was unveiled by the former president Pranab Mukherjee two years ago as a symbol of ties between the two nations.
The Statue installed a the University of Ghana in capital Accra, was removed last week after the protest from the student and the faculty of the university after blaming 'Mahatma Gandhi'.
The online protest was one of a number on a university campus in Africa and beyond about the enduring symbols of the continents colonial past.
