Four engineering students were hit by a fast train in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. It is said that these four were sitting on the railway track and drinking alcohol. All four died on the spot, one of their friends is marginally injured in the accident. The incident took place in the Ravuthur Pirivu area of Coimbatore on Wednesday night.

According to the information received, these four students were killed by the Alappay-Chennai Express train at 10:30 pm. The driver of the train informed his senior officers who informed the Railway Police. The bodies of the four students were scattered on the train track.

Police have said that the deceased have been identified as Siddique Raza of Kodaikanal, Rajashekhar of Dindigul, Karuppaswamy and Gautam of Virudnagar. Of these, Siddique was a final year student, while Rajasekhar was in the third year.

Both were students of a private engineering college in Sulur. Karuppaswamy and Gautam had come to take an exam. Vighnesh, who lives with his partner and Theni, suffered minor injuries. The bodies of the four have been sent to the Coimbatore Medical College for postmortem. According to GRP sources, the case is being investigated.
