Indra Nooyi born on 28 October 1955 is an Indian American business executive, serving as chairwoman of PepsiCo, the second largest food and beverage business in the world by net revenue, and as CEO for 12 years from 2006-2018.

Former CEO of PepsiCo Indra Nooyi is included in the race for the post of World Bank. The American news said this on Tuesday. World Bank chairman Jim Yong Kim announced on Monday a sudden resignation. They will step down on February one.

The president of the World Bank is elected by member states through an "open, merit-based and transparent" process. Traditionally, the World Bank president is an American nominee and the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is always European, according to an informal agreement between the two sides.

But with Donald Trump in the White House, the Europeans have never been less inclined to follow this pact, according to Axios. If Trump were to nominate a well-qualified candidate like Indra Nooyi, an Indian origin executive, then they would probably go along with the nomination, just because a cooperative game theory has worked well for them to date.

World Bank Group president Jim Yong Kim unexpectedly resigned on Monday, more than three years before his term ends in 2022, amid differences with the Trump administration over climate change and the need for more development resources.

Former World Bank managing directors Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Sri Mulyani are the other contenders, Axios said. It also said there is a good chance that Sri Mulyani, Kim's interim replacement, might stay in the role indefinitely.

Indira consistently ranked among the world's 100 most powerful women. In 2014, she was ranked at number 13 on the Forbes list of The World's 100 Most Powerful Women and was ranked the 2nd most powerful woman on the Fortune list in 2015.

In February 2018, the International Cricket Council announced that Nooyi would join the ICC Board as its first independent female director in June.

Indian-born Indra Nooyi was elected the first female CEO of PepsiCo, the chief food and Breweries Company of America. PepsiCo's Revenue increased by 81% in the 12 years of CEO. Nooyi had quit the post of CEO on October 3 last year.

So far the President of the World Bank has been elected as the president of the United States and the IMF. This has been happening under the non-official agreement between the US and Europe
