Former Italian International Footballer Daniel de Rosi announces retirement from International football within six months of joining Argentina's legendary Boca Junior. De Rosie played just seven matches for the team based in Buenos Aires and scored a single goal. He said that he would have to return home due to family reasons. He played 117 matches for Italy between 2004 and 2017 and was a member of the 2006 World Cup winning team. Di Rossi, a 36-year-old midfielder from Italy and Roma, said I have to go home. I am leaving Boca and football.
Di Rosi suffered a number of injuries during his stay in Argentina but said he had no serious health problems. He said that he felt the need to be close to his family and his daughter. Di Rossi played for Roma for 18 years. He split from the club at the end of last season. According to sources, with his injuries mounting and his place not quite as secure under Boca's new leadership, De Rossi has decided to retire. While, De Rossi is expected back in Italy soon, where he will then decide his future, which will presumably see him take up coaching.
