Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday alleged that the Uddhav government has not yet revealed information about the death of about 1000 people from Covid-19 in the state. In a rewritten letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Fadnavis has requested for a probe into the alleged hiding of death from corona virus. On 15 June, Fadnavis wrote a similar letter to the Chief Minister, in which there was a mention of not disclosing information about the death of Covid-19 patients in Mumbai. Fadnavis said that after his letter of June 15, the government informed about 950 deaths from Covid-19 in Mumbai. However, in his recent letter, he has accused the government of hiding information about the death of about 1000 people due to coronavirus.

He further said, "It is a wrong policy of the state government to not keep the record of death toll of about 1,000 people from Covid-19. These deaths have not been added yet." The Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly alleged, "As per my information the case of deaths of 1,000 people due to Covid-19 in the last three months has not been exposed. Within 72 hours of death of someone from Covid-19 this thing should be added in records. But it is not happening. "

The former chief minister said, "It is a wrong policy to mention only a few deaths everyday in the (medical) report. The government should admit that it has not reported some deaths from Covid-19." He said, "I wrote a letter on June 15, after which the state put forward the case of 950 deaths in Mumbai the very next day. The government later added some more deaths to it and in this way, Mumbai alone has 1,200 deaths."
