Former team India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has arrived in Sri Lanka on Monday to participate in the Lanka Premier League (LPL). He will represent Kandy Tuskers in the league. The team also includes West Indies veteran Chris Gayle, local icon Kusal Perera, Sri Lankan T20 specialist Kusal Mendis, Nuwan Pradeep, and England’s fast bowler Liam Plunkett. Gayle performed brilliantly for Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2020.
Another Indian cricketer Manpreet Goni will represent Colombo Kings in this tournament. Let us tell you that five foreign players, including Faf du Plessis, Andre Russell and David Miller, withdrew their names.
Colombo Kings will play against Kandy Tusker in the inaugural match:
Let us tell you that there are five franchise teams in LPL – Colombo Kings, Dambulla Viiking, Galle Gladiators, Jaffna Stallions and Kandy Tuskers. There will be 23 matches in the tournament. Colombo Kings will clash with Kandy Tuskers in the inaugural match of LPL. The match will take place at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota on 26 November. There will be two matches every day. The semifinals will be played on December 13 and 14. The final will be played on 16 December.

Players and officials will have to undergo two PCR tests:
The tournament will take place following the strict protocols due to the coronavirus epidemic. Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley De Silva has told the Sri Lankan media that players and officials will have to undergo two PCR tests. After this, they will be quarantined for three days and after the result of the test on the third day, they can do self-training and on the sixth day they will be tested again and after the result is negative, they can get on the ground on the seventh day.
