External Affairs Minister Jaishankar commented on Jaipal's Kashmir report, saying that this report does not present the same picture of the whole situation. This report is currently up for debate in the House of Representatives. US MP Pramila Jaipal has moved a resolution in Parliament to lift the ban from Kashmir. This proposal has been in opposition in America for the last several days. Not only this, groups of Indian Americans have also demonstrated in a peaceful manner outside their offices.

Jaipal, through this proposal, is demanding that the Indian government release the detained people as soon as possible and start communication in Kashmir. This proposal also states that security forces in Jammu and Kashmir are facing a lot of challenges there. He said that the Government of India should not tighten the condition of releasing those taken into custody. The bonds that are being signed to release them should not have the condition to stop speech and political activities. Not only this, a claim is being made that people are being released with many conditions in this proposal.
