Five-storey Building Collapses in Delhi: 3 People including 2 Children were Rescued

A 5-storey building collapsed on Monday in South Delhi's Azadpur Sabzi Mandi area building is situated opposite Robin cinema near Malka Ganj in Delhi. One person buried under the rubble was rescued and taken to the hospital a senior police officer said, Several people, including two children, are feared trapped under the debris. These children were passing under the building. NDRF and the local administration team are running the rescue operation.

7 Employees were Dispatched

The police team and fire department vehicles have also reached the spot. The people present at the spot told that a very loud sound of the building collapsing was heard. Few vehicles were also cover under the debris. Atul Garg, director of the Delhi Fire Department, said that a call was received in his department regarding the incident at 11.50 am. As soon as the information was received, 7 employees were dispatched. Construction works were going in the building when the incident took place. Need to assess the number of people stuck under the debris.

CM Tweeted Grief

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted and expressed grief over the accident. He has written that the accident of building collapse in the Sabzi Mandi area is sad. The Management is busy with relief and rescue work. I myself am monitoring the situation through the district administration. Total seven fire tenders were rushed to the site. He tweeted in Hindi.

NDMC declared it a dangerous building

Earlier on Sunday, a building collapsed in Delhi's Narela area. In this incident, no one was injured. The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) had already declared this building as a dangerous building.
