Five-level Unlock Plan to Begin in Maharashtra from May 7

After controlling the second wave of COVID-19, Maharashtra's CM Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday announced a five-step unlock plan in the state from June 7. Based on the positivity rate and availability of oxygen beds, 36 districts will be gradually reopened. Level-5 means that the infection rate is very high in the districts. Districts with less positivity rate have been kept in Levels 4, 3, 2, and 1.

On this basis the cities divided into five levels:

Level 1: If the positivity rate is less than 5% and oxygen beds are less than 25%.

Level 2: The positivity rate is 5% and the number of oxygen beds is between 25% and 40%.

Unlock plan – Level 3: Positivity rate between 5% to 10% and oxygen beds should be more than 40% empty.

Level 4: The positivity rate between 10% to 20% and the number of oxygen beds should be above 60% empty.

Level 5: Positivity rate above 20% and oxygen beds should be more than 75% empty.

What will reopen in the first level?

  • Restaurant, Mall.
  • Parks and playgrounds.
  • Private and government offices will allow to re-open with 100% capacity.
  • Theatre, shooting of films.
  • Public events, marriage ceremonies with 100% capacity.
  • E-commerce.
  • Gym, Salon.
  • Buses to operate with 100% capacity.

What will re-open in the second level?

  • 50% of hotels will open.
  • Malls, cinema halls, will open with 50 percent capacity.
  • Public places, playgrounds, cycling will be allowed.
  • All government and private offices will open.
  • People with 50% potential will be able to participate in the socio-cultural program.
  • Marriage ceremony, marriage hall will be able to have 50% and maximum 100 people attendance.
  • All family members can attend the funeral.
  • Construction and agriculture work will be started in full swing.
  • Gyms, salons, beauty parlors, spas will be able to start with 50% capacity.
  • Will be able to travel in government bus in 100% capacity.
  • You will not need an e-pass to go out of the district.
  • You will need an e-pass to enter or leave the Red Zone.

What will open in the third level?

  • Shops related to essential services will remain open till 4 pm.
  • Other shops will remain open from Monday to Friday from 4 pm.
  • These shops will remain closed on Saturday-Sunday.

However, districts under level 4 will not see any relaxation.
