According to the complaint filed by Journalist Manoj Swain, Actor-turned-politician Anubhav Mohanty misbehaved with him and also abused him, police said on Thursday.

Swain asked Mohanty to get his thoughts on a newly announced project. However, Mohanty refused to accept the allegations leveled against him. At the same time, scenes of the incident were broadcast by local TV channels. Swain said that at a function on Tuesday, 37-year-old MP from Kendrapara misbehaved and pulled him by holding his hand.

He accused the MP and his supporters of threatening him, demanding police protection. Inspector Ranjan Samantray, in charge of Kendrapada Nagar police station, said that an FIR has been registered under various sections of the IPC and the matter is being investigated. Condemning the Kendrapara episode, mediators and political leaders across the state have demanded immediate action against the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP.

Journalists protesting in Bhubaneswar threatened to protest in the Odisha Legislative Assembly and the residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik if action was not initiated against the MP in 24 hours.
