President Ram Nath Kovind addresses Lok Sabha on Parliament Budget 2022-23

The budget session of Parliament has started on Monday. President Ram Nath Kovind's address is currently underway. After this, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Economic Survey.

The Parliamentary Budget Session began today. The address was made in Parliament by President Ram Nath Kovind. Following that, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will give the 2021-22 Economic Survey. On February 1, the Finance Minister will submit the Union Budget for the fiscal year 2022-23. The first phase of Parliament's budget session will take place from January 31 to February 11. Following that, there will be a holiday to evaluate financial allocations for various departments. The second round of the budget session will begin on March 14 and will go until April 8. The Lok Sabha will convene on February 1 at 11 a.m., when the general budget will be delivered.

  • Despite the constraints of the pandemic, a large number of homes have been connected to taps. Women have benefited the most from this. The government is working towards empowering the poor of the country.

  • The United Nations has declared the year 2022 as the International Year of Millets. My government will make it a success by collaborating with many groups.

  • The work of irrigation projects and interlinking of rivers has also been taken forward in the country. Work is going on for the Ken-Betwa project with a fund of Rs 150 crore.

  • The government is also doing a lot of work for self-help groups. Women empowerment is one of the major schemes of the government.

  • Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao has already yielded good results. The government's decision to raise the age of marriage of daughters to that of boys has got the acceptance of the society.

  • Gender inclusiveness has been promoted in the education policy of the country. Girls will get a place in Sainik Schools, the first batch of women in NDA will come in June.

  • With the help of the Prime Minister's Ayushman Health Mission, more than 80 thousand health and wellness centres have been opened so far. The government has set up more than 8000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras, which is a big step.

  • Products of Indian pharma companies are reaching 180 countries. With the efforts of the government, the demand for Yoga and AYUSH products is increasing in the country. The world's first WHO Center of Traditional Medical Health is being started in India.

  • My government considers the words of Babasaheb as its basic mantra. This spirit of India is visible in recent years.

  • Honourable Members, In this era of Corona, we have seen the tragedy of food in big countries, but our government has not allowed this to happen. Our government is running the world's largest food distribution program, which has been extended till March.

  • Swanidhi Rozgar Yojana is also being run in the country. The government has also started the e-shram portal for the workers. The government has linked the Jan Dhan portal with mobile. I thank the government for the success of UPI in the era of Digital India and the Digital Economy.

Government is promoting women empowerment

Women's empowerment is a priority for the government. Girls will be able to marry at the same age as boys. Girls are now enrolled at Sainik Schools as well. Triple talaq has been abolished. According to Kovind, the government has begun to liberate society from this harmful tradition by making triple talaq a legal offence. Restrictions on Muslim women performing Hajj with only Mehram have also been lifted.

Nirmala Sitharaman will present the country's economic survey
Following the President's address to both houses of Parliament, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will give the Economic Survey, which will examine the country's economic situation. Nirmala Sitharaman will deliver the Union Budget on Tuesday at 11 a.m. His fourth budget will be unveiled in the coming months. This year's budget, like last year's, will be paperless. The budget session has been broken into three sections as a result of Corona. The first phase will begin on January 31, the second on February 11, and the third on March 14. This session will conclude on April 8.

Economic survey means, an account of the economic conditions of the country in the last year. This shows how much development happened in the country in the last one and where the money was spent, it is reviewed. The GDP of the country is also estimated from this survey. The Economic Survey would have been conducted under the supervision of the Chief Economic Adviser to the Finance Minister.

  • There is a special focus on the security of the country. The government has a special focus on self-reliance in the defence sector. Make in India was given priority in 87% of the products in 2020-21.

  • Issued a list of 209 such goods, which will not be bought from abroad.

  • Development work is going on in all the states of the North East. Basic facilities are being provided there, including the rail line. Employment opportunities are also being given to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

  • The President said that in the year 2047, the country will complete the centenary of independence. We have to work hard today for the grand, modern, developed India of that time. We have to take our hard work to the end and ensure that it yields beneficial results. We all have equal participation in this.

Forces should be developed in India itself - President Kovind
