HRA slabs will be reduced

As per the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission, the HRA slab was reduced to between 24 and 8% instead of 30%, 20% and 10%. The commission had said that the increase would be done in two phases. According to the report, in the next revision of house rent allowance, there will be an increase in HRA by 3%. HRA will be increased to 30% from the existing 27%. However, this will happen only if the hike in dearness allowance crosses 50%. According to the Memorandum of DoPT, if DA crosses 50%, then HRA will become 30%, 20% and 10%.

An increase in DA will increase HRA

Significantly, in July last year, the government had increased the DA to 28%. Since it exceeded 25%, the HRA was also increased. Now according to the news coming in this regard, the central government is preparing to increase the DA by 34%. If this is officially approved by the government, then it will go beyond 50% and the way will be cleared for increasing HRA for the second time. ,

Dearness Allowance will be 34%

These figures show that there has been an increase of 2% in DA from 31% in July till September. Right now the figures for the three months from October to December are going to come and experts say that there will be a further increase of 1% in this. That is, dearness allowance will reach 34%. If we look at the minimum basic pay computation with this increase, a government employee's minimum basic compensation is Rs 18,000. After DA of 34%, this will rise to Rs.6120 per month, an increase of Rs 540 per month. When we look at the wage on an annual basis, we can see that it has increased by Rs 6,480. At the same time, the maximum basic wage would be increased by Rs 1707. As a result, these employees' salaries would increase by Rs 20,484 on an annual basis.
