FIFA, the governing body of football, released the first World Cup schedule to be played in November and December.

First FIFA World Cup match will begin on November 21:

FIFA said, "Once the teams are decided in the group, the possibility of a better start time for the matches will be discussed for the spectators watching the match at home. There will be an allotment of matches in the stadiums keeping the Qatar audience in mind." The first football World Cup to be held in West Asia will begin on 21 November with a match against host Qatar. The final will be held on 18 December.

Tournament will be held in 8 sites in Doha:

This time, the tournament will not last for 28 days, whereas in Russia the previous tournament was played for 32 days. This tournament will be held in 8 sites in Doha. There will be no break between the group stage and the pre-quarter-final matches. Most teams will get a three-day rest in between matches.

Last World Cup to be held with 32 teams:

The teams playing the last two pre-quarterfinals, however, will get rest for only two days. One team losing in the semi-finals in the third-place playoffs will get two days rest while the other team gets three days rest. FIFA plans to hold the tournament draws in late March 2022 or early April 2022. By then, 30 of the 32 teams playing in the finals will be decided. This is the last World Cup in which 32 teams will take part.
