An agreement has been reached between the Karnal district administration and the farmers of Haryana on two demands. One investigation, lathi charge in Bastar and another job to the relatives of the deceased at DC rate. SDM Ayush Sinha has been sent on leave. With this, the strike ended.

Let us tell you that the agreement was reached only late on Friday, which was informed by both sides in the press conference on Saturday morning. As soon as the settlement was reached on Friday night, the meeting scheduled for Saturday morning was called off. After this, the farmers also called off the strike.

The administration agrees to investigate

The officials of the Karnal administration have agreed to conduct an inquiry into the lathi charge on the farmers at Bastar toll. However, the inquiry will be conducted by a retired judge, which will be completed in a month. Accepting this demand of the farmers, the administration has sent IAS Ayush Sinha on leave.

The management also accepted the need to provide services to the relative of the farmer who was killed in the case. Now the family of the deceased will be offered a job at the DC level by the management within a week. Let us inform you that in the talks which lasted till late Friday night, the demands of the farmers were discussed.

An official present in the meeting had told on the condition of anonymity that the administration has agreed to investigate after registering a case against the then SDM of Karnal, who said that the farmers were beheaded.

At the invitation of the administration, under the leadership of Gurnam Singh Chaduni, 13 farmer leaders including Suresh Kauth and Ratan Mann had reached for talks. During this, the officials also spoke to Chandigarh several times. Let us inform that on Thursday afternoon itself, Gurnam Chadhuni, President of the Indian Farmers Association (Haryana) had received the message of talks from the administration.

What is the whole matter?

In Bastar, a Mahapanchayat was organized by the farmers in the grain market of Gharaunda in protest against the lathi charge. All the organizations of farmers and the office bearers of the United Kisan Morcha participated in it.

Keeping three demands in this, he was given 7 days time, then the dharna was started in the secretariat. Farmer leaders demand that SDM Ayush Sinha, who ordered the lathi charge, should be sacked. The son of the deceased should be given a job and a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the family and Rs 2 lakh each to the injured.
