Farmer Unions Call for Nationwide Shutdown on September 27

The farmer has been opposing three agricultural laws for almost a year. Farmers from across the country have gathered at the borders of Delhi. At the same time, farmers are protesting at different places in different states as well. Meanwhile, the United Kisan Morcha has announced a Bharat Bandh on 27 September. Apart from the United Kisan Morcha, many other farmer organizations are also involved in this protest.

Emergency services will be given exemption

According to news agency PTI, the farmers said that the protest would be peaceful and the farmers would ensure that there will be no inconvenience to the people. Samyukta Kisan Morcha has appealed to constituent organizations from all sections of the society to join hands with farmers and campaign for shutdown in advance so that inconvenience to the public can be reduced. The shutdown will be peaceful and voluntary and emergency services will be given exemption.

Will be closed from 6 am to 4 pm

SKM said in a statement that central and state government offices, markets, shops, factories, schools, colleges, and other educational institutions will not be allowed to function by farmers during the Bharat Bandh. This bandh will start from 6 in the morning till 4 in the evening. Public and private transport will not be allowed to ply on the roads. No public gathering will be allowed during the bandh and only emergency services including ambulance and fire services can function.

Mahapanchayat in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand

The SKM said a 'state-level meeting' would be held in Mumbai on September 20 to plan ahead for the shutdown. On September 22, 'Kisan Mazdoor Mahapanchayat' will be organized in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh and after that 'Kisan Mahapanchayat' will be organized in Roorkee, Uttarakhand.
