The propaganda on the social media continues on the ongoing farmers movement on the border of Delhi. Now, while viral an old picture, some people are spreading the lie that this photo is from the farmer movement, supporting Khalistan.
We came to know that an old picture of 2013 is now going viral with false claims using it against the farmer movement. News has investigated many fake posts related to the peasant movement.
What is going Viral

Facebook user Rajdeep Ghosh wrote on December 2, uploading a picture: ‘Thimovement is not a farmer movement. Their purpose is to make Khalistan. Somewhere behind this is the Congress and the Apia-Chameleon.’
In the photo, a Sikh dressed in blue can be seen holding a placard in his hand, on which Khalistan is being sought. Many other users are also making this picture viral with fake claims.
The Investigation
It has first started searching for viral images through the reverse image tool. During investigation this picture found on different dates on many national and international level websites. Searching started for an original photo using the time line tool, they found it on the Getty Images website.
The caption of the photo stated that on the 29th anniversary of Operation Blue Star, members of several militant Sikh organizations showed placards in support of Bhindranwale and Khalistan at the Golden Temple.
Next Phase of Investigation
In the next phase of the investigation, they contacted Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) spokesperson Kulwinder Singh. He told the viral picture that it is an old photo. It has nothing to do with the peasant movement. Now it was the turn of social scanning of the user posting fake.
Conclusion
In the investigation it was found that a picture of 2013 is being spread in the name of farmers’ movement. In our investigation, the viral post proved to be fake.
