Discussions for the post of party president took place in the meeting of the CWC. In the meeting, Sonia Gandhi clearly said that she is the President. After that, the senior leaders present in the meeting said that Rahul Gandhi should take over as the President.
Senior Congress leader Ambika Soni, after the CWC meeting, said that all the leaders are supporting him. Now he will become the leader or not depends upon him. According to party sources, Rahul Gandhi has assured to consider this demand of senior leaders.
On Saturday the CWC met under the chairmanship of president Sonia Gandhi after a long gap. After the meeting, Ambika Soni said that G-23 was not discussed in the meeting. There is no factionalism in Congress. We are united.
All the leaders of the Indian National Congress unanimously want that Rahul Gandhi should become the Congress President. However, the process for the election of the Speaker will begin in September 2022. Also, according to Congress sources, senior leaders requested Rahul Gandhi to become the president. And he said that he would consider it.
Rahul also said that he wants clarity at the level of ideology. Some party leaders said that Rahul Gandhi should be a working president till the president is elected.
After the meeting, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said that three resolutions were passed in the CWC. Among them, one is about the political situation. However, the second one is inflation. And the third is about the deepening discontent on the barbaric attack on the farmers of the country.
Venugopal said that we will run a comprehensive training program in Congress. However, in this, leaders and workers of all levels will be trained in the ideology, policies, expectations of the party from a worker, election management, propaganda of the failure of the present government, and answering the propaganda.
Rajasthan minister and working committee member Raghu Sharma got angry with Kapil Sibal after the meeting. He said that the Congress high command will do whatever has to be done but I do not agree with any leader who said on the road.
He questioned whether the party would be strengthened by holding a press conference at its level and doing such things outside instead of putting its point in front of the party would help them? Talking and giving suggestions to the high command is the right way. So, if you consider yourself to be beyond party discipline then it is not right.
