Every Second Of The Last 15 Minutes Will be Very Special and Challenging: Chandrayaan 2

Chandrayaan-2's soft landing on the lunar surface will be around 2 o'clock late tonight (mid-night of 6-7 September). With this, India will set a new record in the Moon Mission. However, this challenge is not so easy. The last 15 minutes of landing will be extremely challenging. The success of the entire mission rests on these last 15 minutes.

ISRO Chairman K.K. According to Sivan, the team of scientists in the control room is working with complete accuracy. The biggest challenge is to successfully land Chandrayaan-2 at the South Pole of the Moon. A small lapse can end the entire mission. He said, "When we get everything right, the process of launching Chandrayaan-2 to the moon will begin." He told that on September 7, at 1:55 am (mid-night of September 6-7), the lander would land on the surface of the South Pole of the Moon.

The landing period will be quite dangerous. Actually the lander will have to choose the proper place for landing on the moon himself. Landing is to be done at a place which is flat and soft. When Chandrayaan-2 is at a distance of 100 meters, it will choose a safe landing place based on the data and photographs collected. This entire process will take about 66 seconds.

So far, whatever studies have been done about the moon, the surface of the moon has been described as very bumpy. There are pits and mountains on the moon. The landing surface should not be more than 12 degrees bumpy, so that there is no disturbance in the vehicle. If the lander lands in the wrong place, it can get trapped or even hit a mountain and be damaged. This will end the entire mission.

Chandrayaan-2 will land on the south pole of the moon. Till date, no moon mission has arrived here. This part of the moon is always in darkness. The landing of Chandrayaan is more challenging because of this.

Vikram will remain in one place for four hours after landing on the surface. During this time, he will gather many important information about the surrounding surface, its temperature, etc. After four hours, Vikram's door will open and Pragyan will come out from inside. When the distance of Chandrayaan-2 will be only 10 meters, it will touch the moon's surface within 13 seconds of that. All five of Vikram's engines will start working at the time of landing.

When Chandrayaan is 400 meters from the lunar surface, it will collect the data required for landing for 12 seconds. This moment will be very important. Vikram will be closed for a while from ISRO's control room at an altitude of 400 meters, about 89 seconds before the data collection process.

When Chandrayaan 2 is about five kilometers from the lunar surface, its speed will be reduced. Its speed will be reduced to 331.2 km per hour.Just 15 minutes before landing on the moon, when the Chandrayaan is about 30 km away, its speed will start to decrease. In many phases its speed will be reduced continuously, so that its soft landing on the moon can be made.

The lander Vikram will send the first picture of ISRO's control room there 15 minutes after landing on the moon's surface. India is the first country to make a soft landing on the moon. No country has made a landing like this before. It will be like a science fiction film.
