Toxic Pollution will remain in Delhi-NCR for the next 5 Days

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has warned the people of Delhi that the climate will not be good in Delhi-NCR for the next five days. In Delhi's neighbouring states of Haryana and UP, due to stubble burning, air pollution will increase and its air quality index (AQI) will fluctuate between very poor and severe categories.

FIR registered in Kaithal against stubble burning

Meanwhile, Pradeep Dahiya, DC of Kaithal district in Haryana, adjoining Delhi, said that farmers have accepted that stubble burning only causes air pollution, but some people are deliberately spoiling the environment. We have registered an FIR regarding this incident. The administration is strict. Along with this, Haryana's Deputy Agriculture Director Dr. Karamchand said that the agriculture department official in Kaithal has extinguished the burning straw in the field. He said that at the district level, our team is investigating after landing on the field. Wherever burning stubble is seen, we try to extinguish it immediately.

CPCB instructed to strictly follow the graph

On the other hand, taking stock of the situation, CPCB directed the governments of Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. CPCB has been directed to ensure strict adherence to the Graded Action Plan. Also, the sprinkling of water on the roads should be done. The concerned agencies have been asked to submit daily reports to the respective State Pollution Control Boards and Committees.

North-west wind will spoil the work of Delhi-NCR

The CPCB said the sub-committee had convened a meeting on November 8 and reviewed the air quality status, weather and air pollution estimates. He said that as per the estimates of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of north-westerly wind during the next five days. These will bring a large number of dust particles on the burning of stubble. Apart from this, due to favourable weather in the coming days, the air quality is likely to remain between the extreme ends of the 'very poor' and 'severe' category. However, it has directed the administration to mechanically clean roads, increases water sprinkling. Also, CPCB directed to ensure that brick kilns, hot mix plants and stone crushers are shut down in Delhi NCR.
