Women’s Day 2020: From ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ to ‘Gunjan Saxena’, This is the Year of Women-Centric Films in Bollywood

New Delhi: Director Anubhav Sinha is satisfied with the performance of his recent release film 'Thappad' at the box office, however the film managed to earn around Rs 22 crore by its second Saturday, but was also well received by critics and the film was also loved by the audience and they also gave good reactions. This year, there were two more films based on women's struggle and their live was released. Deepika Padukone starrer 'Chhapak' and Kangana Ranaut's film 'Panga' remained far from a box office success.

In the coming time, there are many such films which will celebrate femininity, in which women will be seen as the lead actress.

Gunjan Saxena- The Kargil Girl: The film is based on the Indian Air Force female pilot Gunjan Saxena. Gunjan flew fearlessly into the war zone several times in the Kargil war in 1999. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor in the title role.

The Girl on the Train: This is a psychological suspense film, in which Parineeti Chopra will be seen playing the lead role.

Indoo Ki Jawani: The film will feature Kiara Advani in the lead role.

Thalaivi: She is the late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J. There is a film on Jayalalithaa's life, Kangana Ranaut will be seen in the title role. Apart from this, Kangana will also be seen in 'Dhakad'. According to her, "It is a female-oriented action film."

Gangubhai Kathiawadi: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film features Alia Bhatt in the lead role.
