Falguni Shah, popularly known as 'Falu'

New York based Indian origin Falguni Shah, popularly known as 'Falu', was nominated for the second time in the Best Children's Music Album category at the Grammy Awards 2022. She is the only Indian-origin woman to have been nominated twice for Grammy Awards. Earlier, her album titled Faalu Bazaar was nominated in the 2018 edition of the Grammy Awards. However, in the year 2022, she has won the Grammy Award for the first time.

First solo performance in 2006

Falguni Shah made her first solo performance in 2006. In 2005 she was asked to serve as one of the music ambassadors for Carnegie Hall in New York City. In May 2006, Falguni Shah made her first solo performance at Carnegie Hall. In January 2008, Falu and her band were featured on Fox Channel's Fearless Music, where their root song Rabba became the first Hindi song to be aired.

The Indian-American singer sang 'Jai Ho' at Time magazine's annual gala, celebrating Slumdog Millionaire musician AR Rahman's list of the 100 most influential people in the world. In November 2009, Falguni Shah was invited to the White House to sing again with AR Rahman at President Obama's first state dinner in honour of Indian PM Manmohan Singh. In 2015, Falguni Shah was named one of the 20 Most Influential Global Indian Women.

In 2018 Falu also released albums in Hindi, English and Gujarati, it had 12 songs which was called Falu Bazar. It also featured her husband Gaurav Shah and her mother Kishori Dalal. Falu has also sung a song named Nishaad's Lullaby. The album was nominated for Grammy Award in the Best Children's Music category in 2019. Falu released a follow-up kids album, A Colorful World in 2021, winning the Grammy Award for Best Children's Album this year.
