Urmila Matondkar tweeted, the coronavirus and the current state of the country, in which she wrote, "How deadly n scary is #coronavirusindia is a genuine threat n concern but what about the bigger virus of hatred n bigotry that's decaying n killing us already..when can that be eradicated ?? #DelhiRiot2020 Let's please work on that ???? #TuesdayMotivation." Urmila Matondkar contested from Mumbai North on Congress ticket during the last 2019 Lok Sabha elections. However, she faced defeat in the election, she has resigned from the party. The actress had said about this that she had left the Congress because of the 'insignificant politics within the party'.
