NCB had frozen Rhea's bank accounts

Rhea said in her petition that she is an actress and model by profession. However, she needs to operate her accounts to pay salaries to employees and pay various taxes, including GST. NCB had frozen her bank accounts and FD on 16 September 2020. Rhea also said that her brother is also dependent on her.

Atul Sarpande Opposed the Plea

Special prosecutor Atul Sarpande, representing the NCB in the court, opposed the plea.  Atul Sarpande said that the financial investigation in the matter was not completed yet. However, if the accounts are defrosted, it will hinder the investigation. The money deposited therein is also likely to be used for drug-related business.

Court-ordered Rhea to give an Affidavit

After hearing the arguments, Special Judge DB Mane said, that NCB's objection to freezing Chakraborty's bank accounts and FDs is not valid. However, Rhea can use her bank accounts and FDs subject to conditions.

The court ordered that Rhea will have to give an affidavit for the same. And she will have to inform the investigating officer about the accounts transactions.

The court said Rhea's gadgets should be returned

In another petition, Rhea Chakraborty had asked that her gadgets like MacBook, laptop, and iPhone should be returned to her.
