Squid Game hints toward the return of Gong Yoo

He also hinted at the return of Gong Yoo, who portrayed an anonymous individual in a suit with 'ddakji' who recruits participants for the Squid Game, a series of Korean children's games with a fatal twist in which the last surviving contender would be given KRW 45.6 billion (approximately Rs. 277 crores) in cash.

The famed filmmaker praised viewers for liking the program, which premiered on Netflix late Sunday night, in a letter posted on the company's social media platforms.

"Last year, it took 12 years to bring the inaugural season of Squid Game to existence." Squid Game, on the other hand, just needed 12 days to become the most popular Netflix series ever. "Join us for a brand new round," he continued.

Netflix's news comes six months after Hwang stated that he was in discussions with Netflix about "season 2 and season 3."

Squid Game premiered on Netflix on September 17, 2021, and quickly became a global smash, topping rankings across the world to become the most-watched Netflix series of all time.
