Kumar got a job in the police department

Kumar had struggled for films

Then from here Rajendra Kumar's struggle to go to films started. Had Rajendra not appeared in films, he would have been a cop and running after criminals. After great difficulties, Rajendra Kumar got a job as an assistant to director HS Rawail at a salary of Rs 150 with the help of lyricist Rajendra Krishna. Rajendra Kumar was first seen on the big screen in the 1950 film Jogan. Dilip Kumar was in the lead role in this film. The work was found in the film but it took seven years for Rajendra Kumar to make a mark.

It is said that Rajendra's stardom started fading as soon as Rajesh Khanna came to the movies. Although he also directed the film for his son Kumar Gaurav. The name of this film was 'Love Story'.
