The film was released on 30th September 2022 on screens and a lot of people liked the movie for its story and authenticity of the Chola dynasty.
Yet a large number of people didn't understand the movie at once as the movie looks to be targeted at a particular audience that has quite a knowledge about the Chola dynasty.
The movie contains various stories that are hard to understand at once. So if one has decided to watch this movie, a little knowledge is required before they go for it.
In the 10th century, the region of the South of India was ruled by the Chola dynasty under the ruler Sundara Chozhar. His sons Aditha Karikalan and Arulmozhi Varman were also proved to be great rulers after they conquered the Kanchi and Lanka.
The Pandya dynasty decided to avenge their leader Veerapandiyan after Aditha Karikalan defeated him.
Well at the same time somewhere else, a group in the Chola empire conspired together to usurp Aditha Karikalan from ascending to the throne.

The movie was initially compared with Bahubali which was totally a wrong base to judge the movie as this movie revolves around the true story of the Chola empire whereas Bahubali is a work of fiction that included exaggeration of the scenes to make it favourable for the audience.
This movie is something that presents the true story of the Chola dynasty but a piece of prior knowledge is a must for the best understanding of the movie.
