Nikamma Film Review: Nikamma tests your patience, it’s a full paisa barbaad movie

Abhimanyu Dasani, Sherley Sethia, and Shilpa Shetty starrer Nikamma justify its title in the true sense. The film fails to entertain even for a sec and forces the audience to ask for a refund for the hall ticket. The film so far received just 2.3 ratings out of 10 on IMDB.

The film already received mixed reviews upon the release of its trailer, the film continued to stand on the expectations of the public and turned like torture for the audience.

Watch the trailer here

Plot: A jobless(not a new thing in the country nowadays) middle-class boy Adi (Abhimanyu Dassani) realises her his sister-in-law, RTO officer Avni (Shilpa Shetty) care for him. Upon this realisation, Adi went to the mission of saving her from Vikramjit (Abhimanyu Singh), a rogue businessman who wishes to become a politician.

Where does the film lack?
Be it direction, songs, writing or anything coming into your mind, Nikamma fails in all. From scripting to Direction, everyone proved Nikamma and the film showed its instinct in the trailer itself. With poorly crafted songs and dialogue writing, the film also owns a poor plot, something not much new to Indian Cinema. Director Sabbir Khan must have done some efforts over the screenplay and should have done justice to the film.

In terms of Acting, Shilpa Shetty is beautiful and effective as usual, Abhimanyu Dasani, the male protagonist of the film fails to impress much from his acting) whereas the makers didn’t offer much opportunity to Sherley Sethia except being graceful.

Let’s have a look over reviews given by other media channels

Dainik Bhaskar: The Film claims to be a remake of Middle-Class Abbayi but is actually a copy of the film. The film holds entertainment a bit but is not with watching.

Times of India: The film is way lengthier than its runtime. The story takes too long to come to its central issue and that too doesn’t look new to modern times. Films lack common sense and the character arcs too are not crafted well. In short the film suffers from poor writing.

Bollywood Bubble: first half of the film is loosely executed but the second half is a bit dragged. Nikamma is a yawnsome movie and the only thing good with the film is Shilpa Shetty with her wonder woman actions. One might even get drowsy with the long boring songs.
