Her father, Wing Commander L.K. Dutta was Indira Gandhi's personal pilot. That's why Lara grew up listening to his stories in her childhood.

Lara told in an interview

Lara told in an interview that it used to take three hours in the morning to do makeup. Every day after the end of the shift, one hour to remove it. Lara said that she had no problem waking up so early in the morning, as she has already worked with Akshay Kumar in 13 films.

She also shared a time-lapse video of her makeup, which gives a glimpse of her look transformation. Sharing the video on Instagram, she wrote, "Never thought I would play such an important personality. However, not everyone was impressed by Lara's look in the film. Sapna Bhavnani, hairstylist and ex-contestant of Bigg Boss. wrote in a tweet – "Such a bad wig."

Such was the reaction of husband and daughter

Lara Dutta told that her family members were present during her look test at home due to the lockdown. Lara told her daughter's reaction that she was curious about. She came in and saw the whole silicone on my face and said, "Mom they're going to kill you, you can't breathe in this." She was very worried.

Regarding Mahesh Bhupathi's reaction, Lara said, "My husband was shocked. He was probably very upset. He said I can't hug you because you don't look like you." Directed by Ranjit M Tiwari, Bellbottom is based on the 1984 Operation Bluestar. The film also stars actors Akshay Kumar, Huma Qureshi, Vaani Kapoor. Bellbottom is scheduled to release in theaters on August 19.
