The OTT platform has become another place to release the film in lockdown. Many top celeb starrer films are releasing on the OTT platform and now another film is set to release on OTT platform. On June 9, film maker Karan Johar announced that Kargil Hero Gunjan Saxena's biopic film 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl' would be released on OTT instead of theaters. Now the film release date has also been revealed.
According to the report of Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the producer of the actress Jahnvi Kapoor starrer film has told that a lot of amount has been given by Netflix for the film. Also, the report states that the war-drama film will be released on August 15, that is, on Independence Day.
Based on the sources, the report says, 'It has a patriotic story and everyone associated with the film feels that August 15 is the best date for the film's release. A tribute is to be paid to Gunjan Saxena, the first Indian Air Force pilot to go to the war zone. A theatrical trailer of the film is still being prepared and the trailer will be released in the next 10 days'.
Sources said, 'Film makers were considering several dates for the release of the film, including 26 July i.e. Kargil Day. But post production took longer than expected and hence the film release date had to go ahead for a few weeks. It is now believed that the film's trailer will may release on July 26, which is also a tribute to her.
Let us tell you that Jahnvi Kapoor is in the lead role in the film and she is also accompanied by actor Pankaj Kapoor, who is playing the role of father of Jahnvi Kapoor i.e. Gunjan Saxena. The film has been shot in Lucknow and Georgia and many of the film related work has been done in Mumbai.
Netflix shares the first look of the film and wrote- 'An extraordinary girl, paranormal journey, Gunjan Saxena- The Kargil girl is coming soon. Gunjan Saxena is a biopic of the Indian Air Force pilot Gunjan Saxena.
