Farhan Akhtar, the actor-filmmaker, will star in Ms Marvel, Marvel Studios' first Muslim superhero series. The Disney+ program will be Akhtar's first Hollywood production after appearing in films like Rock On!, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, and Dil Dhadakne Do. Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya, Don, and Don 2 are among the critically praised and financially successful films directed by Akhtar.
According to Deadline, which originally reported the hire, the details of his character in Ms Marvel, which is considered to be a guest appearance, have been kept under wraps. The 48-year-old actor also confirmed his arrival to the Ms Marvel ensemble in a tweet.
Ms Marvel will be accessible on the Disney+ Hotstar streaming service on June 8 in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. It is part of the blockbuster Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and stars Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, nicknamed Ms Marvel, a Muslim American adolescent growing up in Jersey City.
Kamala is an enthusiastic gamer and ardent fan-fiction writer with an overactive imagination, especially when it comes to Captain Marvel (played by Brie Larson in the MCU).
"Yet Kamala believes she doesn't fit in at school, or even her home, until she gains superpowers like her idols," according to the official narrative.
The episodes of the series were directed by Bad Boys for Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, a two-time Oscar winner in the documentary short category, and Meera Menon, who has worked on shows such as The Walking Dead.
Bisha K Ali, a scribe and stand-up comedian recognized for her personal-political humor is the project's chief writer.
Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha round out the cast.
