Actress Esha Deol has revealed in an interview that her father, actor Dharmendra did not want her to enter Bollywood as she is possessive and orthodox. He also told that Dharmendra felt that girls should be kept away from the world in a safe way.

Isha said, "I would not say that it is difficult for them. Yes, it is a different level of challenge and boys also have their own set. As far as my father is concerned, he is possessive and orthodox, And for them, girls should be safely kept away from the world. They must have felt the same, knowing how our industry works. All said and done, we succeeded and how."

Dharmendra did not like Esha to debut in Bollywood

Esha's mother, actress Hema Malini, revealed on The Kapil Sharma Show last year that Dharmendra was strongly opposed to Isha entering the film industry. In the conversation, she said, "Isha used to be interested in extra-curricular activities like sports and dance. Like we used to practice dance in our house, due to which she started liking it and wanted to become a professional dancer. Even wanted to make a career in Bollywood. However, Dharam Ji did not like her daughter to dance or debut in Bollywood and she objected to it."

Esha was last seen in 2011

Esha's last film in Bollywood was the 2011 drama Tell Me O Khuda. After marriage in 2012, she took leave from work. Esha has two daughters. She will also be seen in the Disney Plus Hotstar VIP crime-drama series 'Rudra – The Age of Darkness' starring Ajay Devgan. Esha Deol recently made her production debut with her upcoming film 'Ek Dua'. She will also be seen in a film directed by Ramkamal Mukherjee. The film will be produced by Esha and her husband, Bharat Takhtani under the banner of Bharat Isha Films (BEF).
