Border 2 Movie: After the success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol is reportedly working on the sequel of Border which will have a new ensemble cast of young actors, reported Pinkvilla.
The sequel of the massive hit Border film of 1997 is reportedly under discussion after the tremendous success of Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2.
The actor is all set to bring the sequel of the cult classic Border film after 26 years. The sequel will be titled Border 2 and will not have the other Border cast, per reports.
Gadar 2 is breaking records at the box office since the time it has been released. It entered the Rs. 300 crore club in a few weeks after its release and is marching forward towards the Rs. 400 crore club, swiftly.
The success of Gadar 2 has paved the way wide open for the Border franchise for its producers JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta.
“The team has been discussing the probability of making a Border sequel for the last 2-3 years and everything has now finally fallen into place as the team is all set to make an official announcement of Border 2 in a fortnight.
The team has identified a take from the 1971 Indo-Pak war that is yet not told on the big screen and are all charged up to bring it to the spectacle”, according to a source in a statement to Pinkvilla.
According to the source, the film will have actors from the younger generation rather than bringing in the entire troop of Border (1997). Apart from Sunny Deol no other actor has been approached yet from the old Border franchise.
The film is still in its early stage of production and more updates shall be on our way soon after an official announcement is made by the makers.
Border (1997) had Bollywood celebs including Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Pooja Bhatt, Sudesh Berry, and Sharbani Mukherjee alongside senior actors such as Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Puneet Issar.
The film was one of the most successful ones of its time. The film was based on the Indo-Pak War of 1971 and had a storyline loosely based on the true events from the Battle of Longewala.
