Actor and former MP Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Lankapati Ravana in television's most popular show Ramayana, died late on 5 October. The news of the actor's death has been confirmed by his close relative. Arvind Trivedi's age was 83 years.
Confirming the news of his death, Arvind Trivedi's nephew Kaustubh Trivedi said, 'He has passed away at 10 am. So his health was deteriorating for the last 2-3 days, although he did not have any major illness.
In May this year, news of Arvind Trivedi's death had surfaced, which was put to rest by his nephew Kaustubh, calling it a rumor. Apart from this, Sunil Lahiri, However who played the role of Laxman in Ramayana, shared a post on social media, raging on these rumors.
He was born in Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh. His career started with Gujarati theatre. The actor's brother Upendra Trivedi has been a well-known name of Gujarati cinema and has acted in Gujarati films. Lankesh i.e. Arvind Trivedi, who made a household name with the popular Hindi show Ramayana, So he has acted in about 300 Hindi and Gujarati films.
He was recognized in Gujarati audience by the Gujarati language religious and social films where he contributed for 40 years. However, Trivedi had won seven awards for Best Acting in Gujarati Films awarded by the Government of Gujarat. So In 2002, he was named as the working chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). So Arvind Trivedi served as CBFC chief from 20 July 2002 to 16 October 2003.
In 1991, Arvind Trivedi was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Sabarkatha constituency as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and held the position till 1996.
