Deepika has announced the new film through Twitter. She wrote – I am thrilled about my next offer. The Intern's Indian Adaptation will release in 2021. The tweet informs that it will be produced by Deepika's company productions, Warners Brothers and Azure.
At the same time, Rishi Kapoor also shared this information and wrote that I am beginning a remake of The Intern and a new journey with Deepika Padukone.
Deepika stepped into film production with Chhapak released on 10 January. In this film, she played the role of acid attack survivor Lakshmi Aggarwal. The film was directed by Meghna Gulzar. The raid at the box office was not very successful, but it was also not a waste. Made in a budget of about 35 crores, the film collected about 34 crores in two weeks of release. Now, The Intern will show a different side of Deepika's performance. The Intern, directed by Nancy Meyers, came in 2015. The film's story revolves around the character of Robert, who applies for an internship at a company under the Senior Citizen Program, as his life has become boring after retirement. She is attached to the character Ann Hathaway. The film stars Rishi Kapoor as an intern and Deepika as his boss.
