Oppose Me But Don’t Burn the Country: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Opposition on the issue of citizenship law while addressing a 'Thanksgiving rally' at Ramlila Maidan here on Sunday. He said that some political parties are provoking people on the citizenship law. Trying to create confusion by spreading lies among people. They are provoking people in the name of religion by making provocative statements.

The Prime Minister said that while appealing to the people, he said that they should not be misled by leaders with a political mindset. He said that you people do not need to get misled by them. Use your brain. We passed two bills in a single session. In one, we have given their rights to the people of Delhi. When we confirmed unauthorized colonies in Delhi, did people ask for proof of which religion you belong to? But some people are trying to trick the public.

The Prime Minister said that when we have not asked anyone's religion then why false allegations are being made? Muslims are being misled in the name of paper. I want to ask those opponents that when we have done the work of legitimizing hundreds of colonies in Delhi, then I asked someone if you have a religion, what is your faith or which party are you supporting? Did the police check anyone's religion when there was a fire in Delhi?
