On the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the father of the Indian Constitution, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has appealed to take the oath to keep the ideas contained in the Constitution. The Chief Minister tweeted about this on Sunday morning.

The Chief Minister wrote: Today is the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. He was the father of the Constitution of India. I am paying tribute on this occasion.

I want to say that let us resolve to keep the ideas contained in our Constitution as sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic, justice, freedom, equality, fraternity. It is to be noted that Bhimrao Ramji, who was born on 14 April 1891, famous as Baba Saheb Ambedkar was a legalist, economist, politician, and social reformer.

He inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement and campaigned against untouchables (Dalits) against social discrimination.
