Kejriwal Confirms to Attend Modi’s Oath Taking Ceremony

AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will attend the swearing in ceremony of Narendra Modi as prime minister on Thursday. A Delhi government official confirmed that the Chief Minister has been invited for the ceremony and he is going to attend the ceremony.

While Delhi Congress president and three-time former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit said she has not received any invitation for Modi's swearing-in ceremony.

The BJP won all the seven seats in Delhi routing both the Congress and the AAP in the Lok Sabha polls

Narendra Modi will take the oath as Prime Minister of India for the second time on May 30. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was re-elected with a thumping majority for a second term at the centre, will take oath at the Rashtrapati Bhavan along with the new council of ministers on Thursday.

The size of the gathering may mirror the scale of BJP's landslide victory in the elections, but the ceremony will be kept simple and solemn as per the wishes of President Ram Nath Kovind and the prime minister.

In 2014, the 6 pm swearing in had guests walking in 4-4:30 pm when the heat was still high. Water bottles were not permitted then due to security considerations. Rashtrapati Bhavan was instrumental in pushing the timing of the ceremony to 7 pm this time. Also, adequate drinking water arrangements have been made this time
