Election Commission Considers Kalyan Singh’s Statement as Violation of Code of Conduct

Rajasthan's governor Kalyan Singh may be trapped in a difficult situation. The Election Commission has considered this statement as a violation of the code of conduct, in which he said that we all are BJPmen and we want that once again the government of Narendra Modi becomes the government again. Now, in the meeting to be held on Tuesday, the commission will decide whether this matter should be referred to President Ramnath Kovind.

Kalyan Singh had said in Aligarh

Kalyan Singh had said on March 23 – we all are BJP workers and want BJP to win. We want to see Modiji again becoming the Prime Minister of the country. This is very important in the country.

It is a matter of great concern for Kalyan Singh because he is a governor and a person sitting in such a constitutional position cannot make statements in favor of a party or a person.

Taking cognizance of the matter, the Election Commission had sought a report from the Uttar Pradesh Chief Election Commissioner. The report confirmed that Kalyan Singh himself described himself as a BJPman.
