The people of Rampur were quite surprised to find Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan among them after about two months. Azam Khan, who reached Rampur on Monday after being declared a land mafia, enrolled his wife Dr. Tajin Fatma in Collectorate. His wife is a Socialist candidate in the Assembly by-election in Rampur. He is currently a Rajya Sabha member and his term is till November 2020.

With the declaration of land mafia in Rampur, Azam Khan, named in 85 cases, reached Rampur on Monday after almost two months. Azam Khan joined the nomination of his wife Dr. Tajin Fatma. Now there is also a possibility of appearing before Azam Khan's Special Investigation Team (SIT). In the case of Azam Khan's possession of the land, the SIT has sent a notice to him. He did not respond to the notice sent nor appeared.

Azam Khan joined during the nomination of his wife today. Seeing Azam Khan among them, the workers were also excited. During this period, slogans were also raised in support of Azam Khan. The arrival of Azam Khan saw tremendous enthusiasm among the Samajwadi Party workers. Hundreds of activists who reached here shouted slogans for a long time. Azam Khan as well as hundreds of activists were present in the collectorate. The Samajwadi Party has entrusted the responsibility of saving this strong fort to Azam Khan. The Samajwadi Party on Sunday announced the names of five candidates. The candidate from Rampur was not named in these. The name of Dr. Tajin Fatma was announced late in the evening.

Samajwadi Party's strongman Azam Khan has been a nine-time MLA from Rampur Sadar seat. The Samajwadi Party has never lost this seat since 1993. This time the circumstances are different. The seat has also become a matter of prestige for Azam Khan and his family caught in more than 84 cases. While the party feels that Muslim Bahul will take sympathy from the action being taken against Azam Khan in this seat.

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav came on a two-day visit to Rampur on 13 September. During this time also Akhilesh Yadav was welcomed by Azam Khan's MLA son Abdullah Azam Khan. Azam Khan was missing during this period.
