With the inclusion of the moonj craft in the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme of the UP government, new hope has been raised among the families associated with this mode. In various villages including Madauka, Piparsa, Indalpur, Dandi, Maheva Purab Patti and Maheva Paschim Patti, Bhadha in the Naini region, women make a wide variety of decorative items ranging from moons to bread boxes. Previously, the market of Chowk and Kotwali was available in the city to sell their goods. But ever since Moonz joined the ODOP, he has expanded the scope of his work and skills in the efforts of the government. Feroza Begum of Maheva East Patti, who received a state award for picnic bags in January 2019, says that traders from outside districts place orders in bulk, which fetches higher profits.
