HISTORY OF INDIA: Nalanda Vishwavidyalaya is one of the things that contribute to making India what we call- "The Vishwa Guru". This article is all about Nalanda University which enlightens us about the great history of India.

The university is considered to be the first organization in the world which provided education to the whole world at a single platform which united different parts of the world.

Origin of institution

The traces conclude that the university was established in the 5th century during the Monarch rulership of "SHAKRADITYA", which is far more before the establishment of Oxford and Bologna university.

The institute is situated around 90 kilometres from the Patliputra (Patna) of the Magadh Dynasty (Bihar) and is categorized as the most popular educational organization of that time.

The reasons that entitled the university to GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) were the free education along with authentic practices which created great personalities and those personalities have been a great aid to the world.

The university was well organized with a 9-story library, Bodh temples, and uncountable classrooms which provided the best structure possible for it.

1199-"End Of Nalanda"

Yes, the great institution got devasted by a Turkish ruler "Fanatic Bakhtiyar Khilji", who attacked the Nalanda University and killed numerous disciples of Buddhism and students practicing over there.

The killing of the monks and students was not enough for Bakhtiyar Khilji, and what happened next altered the future of the whole world as he decided to burn the library to ash.

Deed that resulted in the "End of Nalanda"

There is a great story behind the devastation of Nalanda university which says that when once Turkish ruler Bakhtiyar Khilji got sick around the year 1198, he was treated by various skilled Hakims but ended up with no results as the reasons behind the illness were not known.

On that Rahul Shribhadra (an Ayurvedic specialist of Nalanda) was called up to treat Bakhtiar Khilji and a condition was put down on him before commencing the treatment.

The condition stated that the king is not going to take any Ayurvedic medicine and if Nalanda failed to help him, then he will kill Rahul Shribhadra.

On this, Rahul Shribhadra gave the king a Quran and asked him to read it daily. What happened next shook everyone as the king recovered and was fit as fine.

But when Shribhadr was asked how he treated the king? He responded by revealing the medicine, which was there on the pages of the Quran, and healed the king when he turned the pages with his fingers.

Despite the great help from Nalanda, Bakhtiyar Khilji completely destroyed the Nalanda University killing students and disciples living there.

This is all that we can call the unfortunate incident that happened with Nalanda university which if not taken place, we would have seen some great theories and discoveries that could have led to a different world.
