The Nobel prize-winning economist, Amartya Sen,said that the slogan 'Jai Shriram' is not associated with Bengali culture like 'Maa Durga' and it is used as a 'excuse to beat people' Sen said here at Jadavpur University that 'Durga' is omnipresent in the lives of the Bengali people.
He said, "Jai Shri Ram Nara is not associated with Bengali culture." Today Ram Navami is getting 'popularity' and he had never heard of it before. He said, "I asked my four-year-old granddaughter who is her favorite God? She responded that Mother Durga. Mother Durga is present in our life. I think Jai Shree Ram is a slogan used as a sham to beat people. '

Army Chief General Bipin Rawat said on Friday that Pakistan will not dare to repeat infiltration like Kargil 1999 because it has seen its consequences and the Armed Forces are closely watching the border areas.
Apart from the program organized on the occasion of twenty years of Operation Vijay, General Rawat told reporters, there is no such area which we are not monitoring. Our reconnaissance parties have been making strong eyesight and we are continuously patrolling the areas.
