The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced squad for the first match of the three-match Test series to be played against the West Indies. All-rounder Ben Stokes will lead the team in the first Test match in place of Joe Root. All-rounder Moin Ali, who made a place in the Test team after a long time, has not been included in the 13-man squad. On the other hand, county cricketer Dominic Bess has been included as a spinner in the team.

ECB announced 13-member squad:

The first match of the 3-Test series between England and West Indies will be played at the Rose Bowl cricket stadium in Southampton. England and Wales Cricket announced the team captained by Ben Stokes for the opening match of the 3-match test series.

International cricket will resume with this test series:

Due to the spread of Coronavirus infection, many sports events were either postponed or canceled. But with the Test series between England and West Indies, the international cricket is set to return after a long time. On the other hand, the regular captain Joe Root will not play in this match due to personal reasons. All-rounder Ben Stokes will replace him.

Stokes will captain the team for the first time:

Stokes will play the role of captain for the first time. In this match, the West Indies team will play wearing T-shirt with a symbol of 'Black Lives Matter' to raise voice against racism. Ben Stokes said that we are talking to West Indies captain Jason Holder about this.
