Many changes are going to happen in microblogging website Twitter this year. During the recent CES event in Las Vegas, the company talked about new features. It includes features such as threading and option to receive reply. Also, the company also talked about many more features which will be brought to Twitter this year. With this new feature, Twitter users can get rid of trolls.
Revealing new settings for 'conversion participants', Twitter product management director Suzanne Xie said that Twitter users will be able to select one of the four options. These options will be Global, Group, Panel and Statement. By selecting the option of Global, anyone will be able to reply to your tweet. Similarly, the group option will be only for those whom you follow or mentor. At the same time, the option of the panel will allow people to reply to those whom you will specifically mentor in a tweet.
The most special option in all of these will be the statement. After selecting this option, no one will be able to reply to your tweet. These features will be present in your compose screen. Xie further said that Twitter is currently in the process of doing research on this feature. It will be tested in the first half of 2020. This feature is being compared to the private group feature of Facebook and it is being said that this will enable Twitter users to get more control over their tweets.
During the CES event, Xie also talked about the threading feature. Its purpose is to bring all the conversions into one screen. This feature will be introduced initially for beta users and will be made available to all users in the coming months. Another feature was talked about during the event. It has a feature prompt button. This will allow a particular tweet or topic to be followed. This button will appear when users see the tweet of any other followed user.
